OHAC hosts Training Programme as part of the European Commission’s Erasmus Plus Programme
OHAC was delighted to host delegates from Amasya, Turkey for Accessibility and Universal Design Training as Part of the European Commission’s Erasmus Plus Programme.
The training took place at the end of April 2016 and included a number of in house training modules and field trips around Dublin and Dún Laoghaire. The training provided the delegates with an overview of:
- How public transport meets the needs of people with reduced mobility in Ireland.
- How Ireland is making its public services accessible for all (e.g. information provision, customer services, buildings).
- Schools accessibility and the key design consideration to build universally designed educational establishments.
- Irish Building Regulations, Part M and the Building Control Process.
- National legislation and good practice that impacts on accessibility and Unviersal Design.
- National accessibility resources and good practice guidance that is available to assist in the successful delivery of Universal Design and accessibility.
- National and international standards on Universal Design for Customer Engagement in Tourism Services and the benefits of accessible tourism.
