Down Syndrome Ireland Releases Accessible Guide to Covid-19
With the current spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), many of us are having to adapt to a new day-to-day lifestyle. Be it by stricter hygiene practices, implementing social distancing, taking only essential trips outdoors or working from home where possible. Adjusting to this new normal can be difficult to many and can be even more so for people with intellectual disabilities.
To help people with down syndrome, Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) have published a Coronavirus (Covid-19) easy-read guide, which is written in plain language, uses large format and contains a number of graphics. The guide contains information and links aimed to inform and answer questions such as:
- What is the Coronavirus (Covid-19)?
- Where did it come from?
- How do I protect myself?
- How will my life change?
Coronavirus (Covid-19) is a global issue and it is important the everyone stay educated so that we can keep ourselves and others safe and healthy. DSI’s guide helps make this possible by providing information which will be accessible to a larger range of people.
