Note - A New Book shaped speaker for visually impaired
‘Note' is the new inclusive speaker specifically designed for visually impaired or blind people. The designers Stephen Ow and Kah Kiat emphasizes that ‘Touch is important for the blind and we wanted to improve that experience’.
According to Stephen Ow, books are easier to use than speakers because they do not require a set-up. The design is based on the concept that everybody knows how to flip pages.
‘Note’ is a book shaped speaker written in braille. To make it work you just need to open it and when you flip the page of the book the song changes. The volume is adjusted by how wide the book is opened.
This new speaker is an example of new accessibility gadgets for the visually impaired.
