A visit to the Employer Disability Information website is a must for any and all employers out there. The site gives comprehensive information, support and advice to employers on employing people with disabilities. Employees can also find useful information and advice to help them in their workplace. The organisation aims to increase the confidence and capability of employers to employ, manage and maintain staff with disabilities, to promote increased employment of people with disabilities.
The service is run by a group of employer organisations including – Chambers Ireland, IBEC and ISME with funding from the NDA as part of the comprehensive employment strategy for people with disabilities.
There are four key attributes that the Employer Disability Information service provide. They consist of:
- A dedicated phone line giving advice and information to employers.
- An online resource (www.employerdisabilityinfo.ie) containing up-to-date guidance and FAQs.
- Using the networks of contributing organisations to publicize material on their services and other materials concerning the employment of people with disabilities.
- Developing networks and opportunities for employers to share knowledge and good practice.
