Dublin Institute of Technology – Buildings Office
O’Herlihy Access Consultancy (OHAC) has been assisting the Buildings Office in Dublin Institute of Technology to improve accessibility since May 2011. Some of the access consultancy services provided by OHAC include:
- Provision of a briefing on the “Introduction to Accessibility of the Built Environment” for the DIT Buildings Office.
- Access auditing of a number of proposed designs to assist the Buildings Office to develop Disability Access Certificate applications.
- Preparation of Disability Access Certificate applications in line with best practice standards including BS8300:2009.
- Preparation of Revised Disability Access Certificate applications.
- Strategic accessibility audit of the Buildings Office relating to new works, access to protected structures, procurement, day to day management of buildings and health, safety and accessibility.
- Preparation of a built environment access policy for DIT including a three year action plan on how to make the campus accessible for all users regardless of age, size or ability.
- Preparation of strategic access briefing documentation and guidelines.
