Passenger Assistance Prototype App being trialled by Irish Rail
Iarnród Éireann, are currently working to develop a Passenger Assistance App prototype which has the potential to make significant improvements to the way users with mobility and vision impairments access Iarnród Éireanns services. Essentially the app will allow individuals to pre-book assistance and manage their journeys.
At present, testing of the app will only be facilitated on the DART line, but if successful it is planned to extend it to the full service. Currently, only regular DART users with mobility and vision impairments are required to become part of a research panel which will include live testing of a prototype app. In order to take part, the participants are required:
- To be 18 years or older
- To have your own iPhone (iPhone 5s/6 or later)
- Be comfortable making regular trips on the DART.
- Agree to the terms of the testing phase.
