OHAC facilitate Workshop for the Public Participation Network in Limerick
OHAC was delighted to facilitate a Universal Design and Accessibility Workshop for the Public Participation Network (PPN) in Limerick in February 2017. The Public Participation Network provides a new way for the public to engage with the Limerick City & County Council. It is made up of organisations from the community and voluntary, social inclusion and environment sectors. There are currently 400 members in Limerick PPN.
The PPN ensures that Limerick communities have a say in how local government works. By becoming a member of the PPN, your group / organisation can play a part in making decisions that affect your community. You will also be better informed about Limerick City & County Council’s services, activities and funding.
The aim of the Community Day workshop was to identify ‘What Universal Design means to Limerick’ and ‘how to make Universal Design and accessibility work within Limerick’.
The event was attended by key stakeholders who want to improve accessibility within Limerick and explored several themes including:
- Economic Development, Enterprise and Planning
- Environment
- Home and Social Development
- Transport and Travel
- Community, Leisure and Emergency Services
