Access audit of the Arts Council

The Arts Council is the national agency for funding, developing and promoting the arts in Ireland. Established in 1951, to stimulate public interest in and promote the knowledge, appreciation and practice of the arts, the Council is an autonomous body, which is under the aegis of the Department of Arts, Heritage & Gaeltacht.

O'Herlihy Access Consultancy was engaged by the Arts Council in July 2012 to carry out an accessibility audit of their services, information provision and offices at No.69 & No.70 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.

The purpose of the access audit was to carry out a detailed appraisal of the accessibility of Arts Councils Offices and its facilities, to identify how the provision of information could be made more accessible and to identify how the services being delivered by the Arts Council could be made more accessible to all people regardless of their age, size or disability.

Work on this project concluded in November 2012.
