Accessible Tourism Training Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) enroling now.
App Tour You has launched an e-learning course aimed at the tourism sector in order to provide the industry with the basic knowledge and key skills required to serve customers with accessibility needs. The MOOC officially began on the 17th of January but due to the demand participation on the course will remain available throughout its duration – from the 17th of January to the 15th of March.
This self-directed online learning course consists of four, two week modules and learners are expected to commit 6 hours per week. Participants can choose their own learning path, pace and are encourages to take part in social media forums, webinars etc.
Learning outcomes include;
- Becoming familiar with the accessible tourism market and the value that it can bring to your business
- Improving services offered to tourists with accessibility needs and how that can improve your offering to all your guests
- Learn how access audits are carried out in tourism facilities
- Collecting accessibility data
- An understanding of the importance of accurate information and the importance of accurate information when preparing access guides for a tourism property or venue
- Registration of your business with the European Accessible Tourism Directory
Participants who complete all four modules are invited to take a short test. Those who pass the test shall receive personalised proof of attendance.
