Access Auditing of the Built Environment Including Existing Buildings, Streetscapes, Towns and Villages
An access audit rates an existing building against given criteria for usability and accessibility. It investigates not only the issue of ready movement to and around the building, but also the use by people with sensory or intellectual disabilities of the services provided by the building.
While working in the National Disability Authority, company founder Eoin O’Herlihy developed the National Access Auditing Guidelines, entitled Guidelines for Access Auditing the Built Environment. These guidelines form the basis of all audits carried out by our team to ensure the access audit and report is in line with national best practice in this area. We tailor all of our audits to suit our clients’ needs and to ensure our clients have a good understanding of the barriers faced by all people regardless of ability when accessing the services provided in the particular building.
